A meal plan is required of all main campus undergraduate students living in residence halls. A student’s meal plan correlates with the residence hall they are assigned to. Serving as Campbell University’s food service provider, Aramark is experienced in meeting the needs of students who have food allergies or health conditions that require dietary adjustments. Ingredient and allergen information for food served in Gaylord’s Kitchen is available via the daily menus posted online. Our executive chef serves as the primary contact for dietary needs requests and can be found at Gaylord’s Kitchen in the Student Union and is available to meet with students Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and can also be reached by phone and email. Meghan Cusack, our general manager, can also assist. Their contact information is available on the Dining Services page.
Students who wish to request adjustments to their meal plan must meet with Aramark prior to meeting with Disability Services staff. We are committed to making our meal plans and dining halls accessible for all students and will be happy to meet with students or families to discuss specific needs. If after meeting with Aramark staff a student believes they may need an accommodation to alter their meal plan or be exempt from a meal plan, students must then contact Disability Services to begin that process.
To request a dining accommodation, students must meet with Disability Services staff to discuss their experiences and to consider possible accommodations. This can be done by video chat or in person. Request an appointment. Students must also submit a letter from an appropriate provider (doctor, counselor, etc.) to Disability Services supporting this request. The letter must include your diagnosis and describe how it impacts your dining needs. This letter is not released beyond the Disability Services office without your knowledge. If accommodations are approved, they will be shared with the Business Office to make the change to the student’s account. Meal plan accommodations must be renewed each year.
If students are not satisfied with the decision of the Office of Disability Services they can appeal this decision using the Grievance Policy found in the Student DSS Guide Aug 2023.
Meal plan changes that are related to religious observances or any other non-health related reason should be directed to Faithe Beam, Vice President for Student Life and Christian Mission.
