These items are not necessary, but they can make your life in a residence hall easier.
- Dollie or Hand Truck for Move-In Day

- 3.5 cubic feet max; 1.5 amps max

- Quarter inch nails (3MCommand strips are not allowed on drywalls)

Items You Cannot Bring
- Animals
- Except for approved ESA or a service dog, fish must be in a 10-gallon tank or smaller.
- Alcoholic beverages or paraphernalia
- Bricks or cinder blocks
- Candles, incense, fireworks, explosives, or any other flame-producing material
- Cooking appliances such as toasters, George Foreman Grills, hot plates, appliances that produce a flame, etc.
- Toasters and George Foreman Grills are allowed in the Apartment style residential facilities, only in the designated kitchen area.
- Decorative lights (i.e. Christmas lights)
- Battery powered lights are approved
- Fully upholstered or overstuffed furniture (i.e. Couches, recliners, and futons)
- Halogen lamps, lava lamps, compact fluorescent lighting (CFL), or lamps with a plastic shade
- Hazardous materials or chemicals such as gasoline, lighter fluid, or any other item which may pose a danger to the Campbell community
- Items to be hung from ceilings, on/from heating system, or sprinkler system piping
- Nails, screws, permanent adhesives – anything that could damage the walls
- Obscene materials
- Outside antennas
- Personal beds
- Previously live cut trees, cornstalks, leaves, and hay
- Removal of University-issued room furniture or relocation of any University-issued residential furniture is not permitted.
- Signs considered to be University, government, or another’s property
- Space heaters
- Extension cords are not allowed unless they have an on/off switch
- Weapons of any kind, including air rifles, pellet guns, knives with blades over 5 inches.
Important Things to Note
- Smoking must be done outside and 50 feet away from the building. Hookahs, Vapes, or e-cigarettes are not permitted to be used in any residential facility.
- Electrical items such as curling irons and hairdryers should be unplugged when not being used.
- Microwaves and refrigerators must be plugged directly into the wall. They cannot be plugged into a surge protector or extension cord.
- Power strips must include an on/off switch and have surge protection. In addition, they must be plugged directly into the wall. They cannot be plugged into another surge protector or extension cord.
- Prohibited in university buildings: Hoverboards, electric skateboards, electric scooters, electric skates, electric bicycles, single-wheel electric boards, and e-unicycles.
