Fitness Classes

Get fit, involved, and moving! Campus Rec offers a variety of classes each week. We have plenty of great offerings for you to choose from. If you enjoy the moving, fun, and group atmosphere, one of our classes is waiting for you.

Fitness classes are free and open to all students, faculty, and staff with a current Campbell University ID. Non-university-affiliated community members may attend classes and use our facilities by purchasing a community membership.


How to Register/Sign-Up for Group Fitness Classes

  1. Log into your IMLeagues account (You can also download the Campbell Rec app!)
  2. Click the Fitness tab
  3. Scroll down until you see the calendar (or click on the calendar tab).
  4. Find the class you want to register for and click the green Sign Up button to the right. This will take you to the class information page. The green Sign Up button is visible if registration is open.
  5. Read the liability release and click Accept at the bottom of the page. Answer the waiver question and enter your ID. Click Sign Up.
  6. You will receive a confirmation email from IMLeagues with info on the class for which you have registered.
  7. If you are registering for a virtual class (marked Virtual, or online), please note that you will have to complete your registration by following the sign-up instructions provided while registering/in your registration e-mail. This includes registering for the Zoom session.

Registering for a spot for Group-X classes is HIGHLY encouraged, through the Campbell Rec App or the Campus Recreation Portal, if spots are available a walk-in can register/check-in for the class at the front desk. If you register for a spot and are more than five minutes late, you will NOT be allowed in the fitness class after that time period.

If you register for a spot and do not check-in/show up, it will result in an offense. 

  • First Offense: Email warning notifying that a registered class was missed. 
  • Second Offense: Suspended from registering or being a walk-in for a Group-X class for a week. 
  • Third Offense: Suspended from registering or being a walk-in for a Group-X class for the remainder of the semester.

All offenses will restart at the beginning of the semester, if continuous third offenses keep happening, permanent suspension from Group-X classes will be placed. 

Responsibility of the participant:

  • Participants MUST be in appropriate clothing to participate in the class; athletic pants/shorts, athletic tank/shirt, athletic shoes (unless Yoga, Barre, or Stretch slides will be acceptable). 
  • Participants MUST communicate with the instructor if they need to leave early and pick a spot close to the exit to leave without disrupting the class or instructor.  
  • Participants MUST follow all gym conduct rules with instructors and other participants, failure to do so will result in a strike or further consequences.
