From Dr. Kevin O’Mara, dean of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business:
Dr. Yu-Mong Hsiao is the recipient of the 2022 Dean’s Award/or Excellence for the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business.
Since arriving at Campbell 38 years ago, Dr. Hsiao has consistently offered outstanding teaching, tremendous service and unfailing leadership to the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business and Campbell University. Dr. Hsiao has served as department chair and on numerous critical LFSB committees, as well as high-level university committees. She has consistently and selflessly offered her expertise and service whenever necessary. Given her considerable organizational and technical abilities, Dr. Hsiao is often requested to serve.
Dr. Hsiao is perhaps the most respected LFSB faculty member by both her colleagues on the faculty and with the LFSB staff members. There is universal respect for her intellect, quality of work, capabilities, work ethic, and insightful suggestions. Dr. Hsiao is a model faculty member.
As a teacher, Dr. Hsiao displays expertise, versatility, and enthusiasm for her courses. Her courses are noted for engagement, organization, and insightful feedback. While excellent in the traditional classroom, Dr. Hsiao is also an outstanding online instructor. She possesses the rare ability of achieving equal success teaching undergraduates and MBAs. She is noted as a professor that maintains rigor while offering individual attention to any student struggling with the challenging material. Dr. Hsiao is a teacher students appreciate more as time passes.
Dr. Hsiao is primarily responsible for the LFSB’s successful reaccreditation effort this year. The LFSB passed the review without “notes” or “conditions” which is the best outcome possible from ACBSP. This impressive result would not have occurred without the leadership, long hours, and dogged determination Dr. Hsiao exhibited throughout this year-long process. Our ACBSP visiting team commented on the quality of our submission, its c;!ear organizational structure, and the rapid response to their request for more information or. clarification. Dr. Hsiao was responsible for much of this positive feedback.
For all the reasons outlined above and more, Dr. Yu-Mong Hsiao a is very deserving of the 2022 Dean’s Award for Excellence.
