Letter from Search Committee Chairman

On April 17, Campbell University entered a period of transition as President J. Bradley Creed announced his plans to retire in the summer of 2025, concluding 10 years at the helm of the university. His accomplishments during this time have been nothing less than exceptional. From successfully navigating through COVID-19 disruptions to the fundraising and development of the Oscar N. Harris Student Union, President Creed has consistently guided Campbell to new heights. The presidential search committee is tasked with ensuring this record of success will continue and expand into the future.

I am honored to serve as chair of the search committee, working with representatives of the trustees, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, to identify our next leader. Additionally, we are excited to partner with one of the nation’s premier executive search firms, CarterBaldwin. Between CarterBaldwin’s wealth of experience and the search committee’s depth of knowledge, I have no doubt our selection will embody the very best of Campbell University’s values.

This presidential search webpage is intended to keep Campbell alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends updated on information and details about the search process. It also serves as a place where potential candidates can learn more about Campbell and the attributes we wish to see in our future president.

Finally, while this is a transitional period for Campbell, it is also an exciting one. I feel beyond privileged to help the committee and search firm make a decision that will solidify Campbell’s future growth trajectory and continue to uphold the university as one of the leading faith-based institutions in the country.
