About Dr. Engel
Dr. Engel received his B.A. (history with teacher licensure) from Eastern Illinois University and his M.A. (history) from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He received his general administrative certification (K-12) and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. His primary areas of interest include social studies, school law, accreditation, and the development of graduate based online education. Dr. Engel was a secondary social studies teacher and assistant principal prior to coming to Campbell University in the fall of 1999. In his spare time, he enjoys learning about recent archaeological discoveries (such as the work being done at Göbekli Tepe in Turkey) and collecting World War II militeria (mainly rifles and bayonets).
