PGA Golf Management

The PGA Golf Management Program at Campbell University allows students to acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for success in the golf industry.

Students at Campbell University will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in PGA Golf Management. Students will begin taking golf specific courses beginning with the first semester on campus. Class topics include Tournament Operations & Rules, Introduction to Teaching, Facility Operations, Turfgrass Management, and Golf Shop Operations. In addition to the extensive classroom studies, students are required to complete the PGA’s Golf Management Program, pass the Playing Ability Test (PAT), and complete 16 months of internship work experience.

Carolinas PGA names Ryan Dailey Junior Golf Leader of the Year

BUIES CREEK -- Ryan Dailey, assistant director of Campbell University’s PGA Golf Management Program, has been named the Carolinas PGA Section’s Junior Golf Leader of 2013. According to the Carolinas PGA, the honor recognizes a PGA professional who has outstanding character, provides opportunities and experiences for juniors to learn and play golf, and exhibits a commitment to junior programs and initiatives that impact the lives of junior golfers. Putting guru David Orr: This week “has been awesome”

After golfer Justin Rose won the U.S. Open on Sunday, sports commentators attributed much of his victory to improvements in his short game, including putting. The headline of one column on, for example, read: “Putting tweaks help Rose bloom.” Rose’s short-game coach? David Orr, the director of instruction of Campbell University’s PGA Golf Management University Program, one of only 20 in the country accredited by the PGA.

When Nathan Mead became president of the PGA Golf Management Student Association (PGMSA) at Campbell University last semester, he introduced a slogan that he hoped would set the tone for the group for the academic year: “Do big things.”
